CPL Richie Wilson RAF Careers

My name is Richie Wilson, I am currently employed as a Royal Air Force Recruiter within the Armed Forces Careers Office. I was kindly invited to attend the Chesterfield College Uniformed Service Training Residential Course which was held at the National Air Cadet Adventure Training Centre Llanbedr. The reason that I write this letter is because I was extremely impressed with not only the way in which the course was administered but additionally the structure and content which makes it a success.

The staff for the duration of the course was tireless and exemplary. The instruction on core values such as respect, integrity, teamwork, adventurous activities and physical fitness mirrors the instruction given during the Transition Phase of Recruit Training at RAF Halton. The students who successfully passed this residential course are already displaying the qualities that the RAF look for in a candidate.

No course of this nature can be successful without a good back of house team. The food served from this simulated field kitchen was second to none. The most impressive element to this side of the course was the fact that the majority of the catering was prepared by students on a higher level of your Public Services Course who have little or no previous experience in the catering field. This type of leadership demonstrates the fact that the staff are fully aware of the need for students to raise their profile in a climate where the uncertainty of employment beckons.
